The Friends of Cochiti Community has been around almost as long as the town of Cochiti Lake. Years ago, residents of the Town sponsored a licensed Bingo game for nearly a decade. When it was decided to end the game, forward-thinking residents created the Cochiti Lake Community Fund (CLCF). And now today, their envisioned intention created a “community chest” with the proceeds to be available to permanent residents though the duration of our land lease. In 2019 the Friends of Cochiti Community and its outreach program Cochiti Lake Community Fund became a Federal IRS tax exempt non-profit 501(c)3 organization registered with the State of New Mexico as a charitable organization.A Board of Directors is responsible for distribution of funds through grants and community project and event support.Participation on the Cochiti Lake Community Fund Board consists of fund-raising, event planning and participation, management of existing funds, decisions regarding individual and project grants, maintaining the functions of the organization and maintaining records of organization business.Board has no paid positions and receive no funds from any government source.
